Who we are Student and librarian run, this page is a collection of interests, thoughts and works by the SMCHS library volunteers. Why? Because libraries aren't just a place to read a book. Libraries are a gathering place, a place to share ideas. Who is part of this group? We have a small committed group of students who volunteer their time everyday to help out. With an assortment of resources, a constant flow of projects, and an endless amount of events, our group is always busy. Anyone is welcome to participate. During school hours, after hours, from the comfort of your couch; wherever you are, you are encouraged to become involved.
What we do In the fall and winter of this school year, we focused our efforts on crafting, using discarded items from the collection to create amazing paper crafts. Through the efforts and creative genius of our group we were able to participate in the St. Michael's Christmas Craft Show, and were able to raise over 300 dollars. Daily tasks in the library include shelving, creating displays, shelf reading, research, processing, and... any other random task that crops up in a school library - there are many. This group supports the library, librarian and school. Through their committed and selfless efforts, the library is made a better place; and, as we go forward, we are focused of the revitalization of St. Michael's library.
